DO NOT BUY HIS BOAT!

I don't want to see Bob curtail his fishing. I enjoy his posts and I enjoy his enthusiasm for not only fishing but his many other charitable efforts. He's an inspiration to us all and I don't want to see him fade away from this board.

I'm only kidding about not buying his boat of course but in my heart I wish he weren't selling it. He's literally giving the thing away, and whomever buys it should thank their lucky stars they fell into such a great deal.

Don't go away completely Bob because the board will never be able to replace you.

Bob I still remember a few years back when I first got my slip in Ilwaco how you helped me get my little boat into the slip. The wind was blowing 20+ knots with an outgoing tide, I kept missing the slip. I believe I was solo also. Told me when to turn and gun so I could miss the the back of the other boats. (I think he was just helping so I wouldn't slam into his motors).

Bob you also graciously loan me swim baits when I had forgot mine. Your a good person Bob, hope you continue to enjoy your retirement. Come fish with me when you get the urge.

I've never met you but I know you through your efforts with the Vernonia Flood and the OTC, I respect you as a fellow fisher and as a man. The way you have your boat set up speaks volumes of your experience on the waters around here. Good luck with your new ventures, what ever they may be.

I am no longer a boat owner! My good friend and fellow Ifisher "Hook'd" has purchased the boat. Terry (also my eye doctor) is a great and safe captain.

I am right now filling out my "Boat Ho" Union application. Hoggemin called me and said I was pre approved. WOOOOOHOOOO!

There is nothing funny about NOT fishing flat weekdays...wheels are really coming off the cart if ODINs getting out of saltwater fishing.

Bob, this is bitter-sweet. Both congratulations for doing what you need to do, and condolensces.

As most folks know, Bob really is one of the "good ones."

Bob tell us....will we still get to see you at some of the land-based activities.... OTC events, salty dogs convention? I sure hope so.

Those three words from Bob seem the equivalent of Crazyfish saying he is mentally stable,

I never met ODIN, but to see all the time, money, & hard work he put into his Boat, only to sell it for way less than it's worth, makes you wonder why? Good Luck! Bob, you are obviously a well loved guy.

He'll probably slaughter me for saying this, but he actually is fine. He has good reasons for turning the page from captain to crew, and despite my vested interest in having a tuna captain living 1.5 miles from me, I have to grudgingly approve of his decision.

To say what it's not. Not health related. Not wealth related. In other words, not a hasty, ill-timed, or poorly made decision. It just seems that way.
