Default 2/16 Clack/Willamette Report.........

Morning:
Three of us fished hard today from the bank. Started on the Clackamas, and fished for 4 hours. My buddy landed a nice 12-13 pound native winter hen with a rocket red corkie and white yarn. That fish was fat, but had one too many fins. We released the fish, it never left the water, and no net was used.

Afternoon:
We then chucked spinners in the afternoon on the Willamette trying to entice an early springer. Nope, just casting practice today. I did see four chrome fish roll on the Willamette, but could not tell if they were springers or steelhead. I did not see a fish hooked from the plunkers or from the boats today while throwing spinners. I'm not sure how they did in the morning.

Perhaps others did well, but we didn't see it.

Wish I had better news today.

I trolled the Multnomah Channel this morning from about 9 til noon. River color wasn't bad for this time of year. Marked several salmon shallow (6-10' deep in 12-14' water). Missed only hit of the day due to a miscomunication with my guest.

I would say visibility was 2 feet. I held my spinner in the water, and that's about how deep it would go before disappearing. It was getting murkier as the day and the rain progressed.
