They had the bar closed till 9am so we got to have a little breakfast before heading out. The bar was fine but there were some really big waves out on big blue. We dropped the crab pots south of the jetty and headed due west. Started trolling in about 170ft. of water. Immediately lost one at the boat and had 2 takedowns. I had 2 others on my boat....one chumming....the other was my father-in-law from Colorado so I had to do all the work. It was all I could do to get 3 poles in the water from then on. We proceded to land 2 fish between 170ft. and 210ft. and turned North with the waves. We picked up another 4 keepers as well as released a native pretty quick. All said, we crossed the bar a little after 9am and landed all 6 by 11:15am. Tried to go west to check water temp but only managed to get out about 12 miles. Water temp never went higher than 59 degrees.
It was a good day but we got our fish too fast! Never thought I'd say that but it just seamed like I was working my a-- off and didn't have time to enjoy the moment. It didn't help that I was trying to rig all these poles while doing the "pacific ocean shuffle" due to the enormous waves!

Not really back in the water in full force yet. It looks as if my boat will be out for the next month getting a new bottom installed. I will have to hitch rides with Bruce and my neighbor till I get my machine back. I should have her back when the Fall Nooks are in full force, let's hook up and do a trip out of Portland when I get her back. Remember the spot where you and Rob were nailing the keeper sturgeon? There are some awesome spots in that general area and most of the time you have it all to yourself. I'll show you guys.... Later.......
