Check out Jennie's post on the main forum regarding upcoming meetings. We need representation at each of these. Please do everything you can to get yourselves or other fishers there.

Pilar's Mate, saw in a previous post you discussed a rock fish hearing in Newport on 8/6. Now Jennie is discussing a meeting 8/5. Are these different meetings or did the time get changed? Thanks for your efforts.

Different meetings. Different topics. Different target audiences.

I'm confirming all August meetings with Patty now, but it looks like (for Newport) there's one on 8/5 (commercials and coastal business leaders - 2003 regulations) one on 8/6 (recreationals - nearshore and/or 2003 regulations)

Of course, there's the ODFW commission meeting in Corvallis on 8/9. I realize that not everyone can get to every meeting, but please make it to the ones you can.. even if the target audience is not recreational. Each of us needs to commit to making it to at least one of these public forums.

I'll post more when I get all the gory details on which meetings are on which topics and what kind of support is needed.

DON'T MAKE ME BEG!

We're getting close now. With all of the excitement about Ocean Fishing, it's time to divert some of that energy to the cause.

Check out the meeting schedule and figure out which meeting you can sit in on.

We (Pilar's Mate, Pilar, Mr. Fisherman, Threemuch, Mark Mc, RFA Janice, Black Magic and many others ....) have written a rather large check to ODFW and I need your ***** in seats at ODFW commisioners and other meetings to cash it.

ODFW is looking for a few good men and women to attend meetings and put a face on sport fishers. The arguments to manage these offshore resources for both Sport and commercials will only be presented and considered if we the sportfishers show up and support Patty Burke, the ODFW Marine Resources department head.

Remember that the ******* will show up because it is their job on the line

You will show up because YOU can make a difference just by being there. Hell, make it a religious thing. You are going to a meeting of the Church of the Bent Rod. Who would dare to restrict access to the religion of your choice?

You make time for the fishing trips, right? Make time for the meetings that will give your children the same fishing you now enjoy.
