Eotech holographic sights on AR-15?

Finally got the AR-15 I ordered from Mike Mille at Dedicated Technologies back in January (pics to come). I put a 2.5-16 Bushnell Elite 6500 on it and shot these excellent 100 yard 3 shot groups yesterday - the gun really shoots!

Since the 2.5-16 is on a LaRue quick detach mount, I'd like to get an Eotech or similar red dot sight for plinking or for keeping on the gun if I ever use it in a home defense type situation. I've never shot one with an Eotech. Can some of you more experienced AR guys chime in with some advice regarding red dot /holographic sights? I was looking at the Eotech 512, or possibly the 557.AR223 with the four dots - each one calibrated for bullet drop (the 557 is very hard to find right now) My rifle does not have fixed sights on it and won't - the scope or Eotech will be the only sighting system. The gun will probably shoot better once its broke so dont fret to much about those starter groups

Get the 512 mine does fine out two 200yrds on my steel coyote target.
