Advice on left hand retrieve reels
I'm looking for a reel larger then my Penn GT 321 for off-shore fishing. I searched the west side stores Friday and could find anything. I'll head East this week in me search. Hoping to stay under $200.
What do you use?
Anyone have one to sell?

Re: Advice on left hand retrieve reels
A bit more than you want to spend, but I would not trade my 2 speed Avet lefty for anything.

Re: Advice on left hand retrieve reels
Like Ryan said, the Avet EX4/0-2 is a discontinued two speed reel that they made in a left hand version. The "E" place may be one of your best bets. New they were about $300, might be able to find used for less.

Good luck with the search. Only model I've found in LH is the Penn GT 321. If you find a non levelwind in LH model please let me know.

You can find left-hand Penn Senator 113H 4/0 and lefty Newells and Avets on the website with the Great White on it.

I guess I should have noted. Non level wind prefered.

Re: Advice on left hand retrieve reels
got a couple of 4/0 penn 113hl's in pieces, also have a left hand gear set. just out of curiosity, is there something you need to catch that you can't beat with a left handed penn 321 and 65# spectra and 20#'s of drag?

My main concern is line capacity. The 321 only holds about 300 yards of 65 LB tuff line. If I’m fishing 600 to 700 foot with a big drift I'm out of my comfort level. I'm looking for something that will hold 400 + yards.

Thanks Nancy. I'll let it sit there for Lori to read. Maybe I'll get lucky and get one for my birthday or Ftahers day since they fall a couple day apart.

Re: Advice on left hand retrieve reels
how about 50# spectra? it will probably cut through the water better. i guess what i'm saying is to not underestimate the penn 321. you can leave the leveler on or take it off. there are lots of options. alan
