Yeah, and we must be cursed. We trolled and trolled and trolled. No keeper fish. We lost 5, landed two silvers with extra fins.
EVERYONE around us caught fish.
I haven't caught a salmon on this boat yet that I could keep!

Kurt, you certainly did try.... If I'm right, you were out of the harbor at 6am... we weren't even on the boat by that time... at least you were able to have some action to keep your hopes up and adreniline pumping. I expect you'll be in the blood next time ! Craig

Re: Threemuch off of Twin Rocks on 6/17
Big THANKS to Threemuch for sharing your info. We had an awesome day and limited by 9:30 with 6 nooks.
Seemed whenever we hit the 240 foot depth we hooked up, we were out 40 pulls with a delta diver with a large fish flash and the other hot rod had 12oz lead with a large dodger and 50 pulls. We only touched two silvers, the rest all nooks including this chromer 32lber
Thanks again!

Yep, that's true, Live to Fish hooked up a 7 foot shark for a couple of minutes. I would have guessed it to be a blue, but the water was cold and green for that species, plus this shark looked to girthy to be a blue. Odd. Salmon shark? Baby GW?

54. I doubt it was a Mako. Tail didn't look right. Closest thing I can figure was a mini-great white, wish I could have gotten a pic.

Re: Threemuch off of Twin Rocks on 6/17
Did the shark hit the surface ??
How much could you folks see of the shark ?
If you guys were just fishing with herring on the surface, that doesn't motivate me to go SCUBA diving in the area... you're right about the green water, it was green, opaque, and soupy.. I couldn't see our fish until it was 6 inches to the surface..

Re: Threemuch off of Twin Rocks on 6/17
The shark hit at 10 or 15 pulls, maybe 20' down on herring. I wouldn't be happy to meet a fish that big diving, but I don't think lone sharks of this size pose much of a threat to a person.

Re: Threemuch off of Twin Rocks on 6/17
Kurt,
Last year we were out 20 miles tuna fishing and one of the rods goes off, so I yell for my daughter to get up from her beauty sleep and pull in her first tuna. After a 25 minute battle she pulls up a 7 foot, 150 lb (est.) shark that looks like a small great white. I tried to break off some of its teeth for a souvenir, but it had a real attitude and I cut the line. We put the lines back in and ended up hooking another one on the same cedar plug. Anyway to make a long story short, I think they were salmon sharks or porbeagles, which are semi rare and the closest cousin to the great white. I have a pic of mine and will try and post it somehow to see if it was similar to yours. They look very lethal.

Marty, I'd really like to see what one of those sharks look like... if you haven't done it before, the picture upload link is close to the top of the window.. right in between the words "Hat Orders" and "Acceptable use policy".
