Default Wed Fishin

Just got off the phone with Lou Shinen, he's got one chinook in the box and hooked up his second while he was on the phone with me. He said it is glassy glassy calm and tons of fish.

Anyone interested in a morning mission off twin rocks? I am thinking of running down to the boat, getting it out there and doing a half day of fishing. Try to return by lunchtime or so and get half a day's work in. But I need a partner in crime. Early departure, prolly launch at 6am which means head out about 4:15.

Threemuch, Thanks for the report, me and a couple of buddies are heading for big blue tomorrow but not sure if we want to hit Tillamook or the Columbia.

I know the area around the Columbia but have never been to Twin rocks. How far out is this place? Your fishing reports sound great so I am leaning that direction. Any help would be appreciated!

I fished out of Garibaldi today but didn't limit out until 11am. I started in shallower water but the fish were definately in the deeper stuff. Several boats, including mine, found a nice school of chinooks south of the jetty about a mile and west in 230ft. of water--30 feet down. In fact, all four keepers today were chinook with the biggest at 21lbs. I had the Native touch today and let about 5-6 nate coho go. Finished at 11 am and headed out for some bottom fishing out in 330ft. of water. Caught several fish, but can't remember their name at the moment. Used one to hook up with a 7ft. blue shark, got him to the boat..then he dove....got him back up to the boat...then he dove...got him back up to the boat...then "swack"....broke the line. Fun while it lasted though.
Only got 11 crab, all in one trap. I think my other 2 traps may have got pilfered or landed upside down. Seemed a little odd to get 11 keepers in one trap, no crabs in another pot, and one throw back in the last pot.

Garibaldi, the rocks just north of the jetty. Twin rocks on the chart.
