Well I can't tell you what to use out of Nahalem, but the best hoochie colors for us seem to be the purple haze for chinook, and pink is always outstanding for coho.

As of the apex's, we've landed half our fish this year on them. We run at least half and half on bait vs. apex. That's a lot of fish considering between my dad's boat and I we've topped a 100 fish already.

Tailchaser named two of my four favorites and I'd list both the purple and pink right with green/chartruse but my favorite color is green/glow. I believe they call it army truck up in canada. Green Glow is a fish catching machine in the early morning bite. Both Chinooks and Coho.

Read the book What Fish See that I mentioned in the thread Required Reading and the choice of color will make more sense.

Saturday we did best with the Pink/Blue/White,with the round tip. We got most of them 5 miles off the Newport lighthouse, but sunday within a mile of the whistler was the hot spot. Avoid the brown water

Army truck for sure. Dark green and splotchy with some glow in the dark thrown in. All glow is good too. Don't forget the 3/8" glow corkie shoved up in the head to fill it out.

Using several large beads on the leader makes it rattle.
