weather predictions wrong again.....

The weather sucks in Newport as well....my son took the boat out to the pile today.....against my better judgement.

He said some waves ere missing the back of them, but he stayed till 3pm. They released several wild coho, and kept a 25# chinook.
Also caught and released a one halibut and lost another.

He said it is a weird feeling to have a shrimp fly stuck in your forehead when trying to unhook a halibut sliding around the bottom of the boat. I ask how he got it out and he said it finnaly tore out.....ouch

He has my old 19ft bluewater, he went about 15 miles, 240 degrees from the bar.

It has been good for chinooks, I have yet to go this year without coming home with a limit.
But it is a little ways to run, there are fish much closer.

I like the bluewaters.. seem like nice boats.... I looked at a alumanum bluewater before I got my alumaweld... Very well made...... Well hopefully the wind has slowed down and will lay low until around 12 tomorrow.... and hopefully " the bar will be nice.....

Down here in Bandon they were saying aroudn 20 knots of wind with 2foot swells and 5 foot wind waves for yesterday.... Well in the morning it sucked, couldn't get out.. come 11a.m. it was AWESOME! barely a 2 foot swell... went out and did some bottom fishing caught some blacks, rock cod, lin cod. I wanted to go for salmon but my shipmates wanted bottom fish... next time I will take someone else!!

Anyway.... any bets as to when the predictions are going to be wrong again so I can get back out on the big blue?
