Default Rough weather off of Tillamook Friday

We tried salmon fishing off of Twin Rocks friday morning at 200 ft dept, but the 20+ knots winds made it difficult to fish past noon. There were white caps everywhere.. Lou had one hookup at the surface, but we lost it. We did well on the crabs, pulled in over 80 pounds of crabs from 3 traps... I have found a fair portion of the crabs to be 'light', but many were so big, they went over the edges of our gauges.. the full story and pictures can be found at

http://geocities.com/crcfishing/index.html

Kurt was right about the crabs willingness to sit on top of each other... there were so many crabs in one round trap, we found two huge crabs on top of a trap when it reached the surface. The trap was full of crabs, just packed to the gunnels. I'd attach a picture of Lou with a trap full of crabs, but the IMAGE button calls for a URL and the picture is on my computer. help!

Nice job! We did good also on crab the last time we went out. I talked to a friend who is out on the water right now and he had 3 nice chinook to the boat and let several native coho go. I'll post again tonight to give the final results. I think I'm headed out there tomorrow to give it a run. Let me know if you'll be out there.

Yeh Lepper, thanks for your offer to host my pictures. Fortunately, Yahoo/Geocities is doing that for free [ for now, at least ].. and I also get use of a free integrated, drag-n-drop HTML editor. I need help understanding how to post a picture to this forum... at the bottom, middle of this window, The Instant UBB Code section is the only place I can see as a mechanism to upload a picture, but it asks for a URL. I thought I'd try \\desktop\d\sss.jpg to force to my logical drive, but it doesn't like the format... and the FAQ for this site doesn't address the picture upload topic from what I could see so far... so uploading a picture to this site is where I need help... thanks for your offer. Craig

Corrirod... Thanks for your thoughts... Apart from sharing our bounty with some tourists[ which put a really nice smile on their faces that afternoon], we've found a lot of the crabs are thin, so I'm reluctant to keep these crabs now, and continue to throw the lighter one's back in to fill out [while I try to loose weight]... most of the fun is in getting the crabs, we're not catching them for subsistence... We're going back out Wednesday out of Nehalem for salmon... I may troll the Nehalem Jetty on Tuesday, the fry are now coming in.... the weather forecast is looking real good right now.. 10 knot winds on 4 foot swells... my stomach can definitely deal with that kind of fishing weather.. I think we're going to have a killer day... We'll ge fishing off the Louie-Louie, a white Arima. What are you driving ? Cheers, Craig

i'm driving a 19' alumaweld... couldn't get over the bar in charleston today cause of recreation craft restrictions.... What part don't you understand about hosting?????/

The bad thing about yahoo/geocities, is that they limit your band width.. only so many people a day can go to your web site.

When you post the url Hit the URL button below the typing screen. A box pops up.. put in the web address there http:ysdfo.cooem/dljk,, Hit okay.... then another box shows up, type in the name of the site, like if it's a pic of your boat type pic of baot..... and it comes out like this.

this IS a picture of my boat..

and you are done..... is that what you meant? or you mean uploading to your personal web page ect?? if that is the case you need a an ftp program...... I can help you out with that as well if you need it.

okay, let's see if this works... using the IMAGE button..

now let's try the URL button..
sample picture

it looks like Yahoo won't let you gain direct access to a file...

craigc,

There is a link between "Ifish decals or Hat Orders" and "Acceptable use policy" underneath the Lamiglass and Willie ads that reads "Picture Uploads." Yes, on that bar, you got it. Holler, if I can be of any further assistance.

avid and Lepper, thank you for the insight and help... let's see if it works..

does anyone notice we're using chicken for bait ?

Here's one of Lou and his crabs...

I hope the fishing is better on Wednesday...

Jet, I think it was smart for you to stay off the water on Friday, we were the only people on the water within eyesight for the morning...
