I'm not sure where to buy fresh stuff but the gas station just south of the boat ramp turnoff has a lot of frozen herring at a reasonable price. It's not the Texaco, it's the other one, might be a 76 station. Anyway, the guy that owns it is really cool and he had a ton in stock the last time I was in there. I'm not sure anyone really knows he sells bait. I believe all of the bait he has was purchased from Reedsport. Hope that helps.

The best part is the guy has Tuna gear too. He even knows something about it. I buy gas, bait ice and drinks there to thank the guy, every chance I get.

You should too.

Jerry did sell. The new guy is alright too. I think we should tell him what to keep in stock, or he won't after it sells.

Barvierocks,
I beleive Jerry sold out this spring. There's a new dark haired guy running the station now.
Fishin62, Jeff in the Garibaldi Marina opens around 5:00 a.m. or before and he has fresh green and purple label. Tight lines, Tom

The new guy at the 76 station had bad looking herring there this weekend. It was old and they even gave us a discount cause it looked freezer burned. We bought a couple dozen, but then found good bait at Garibaldi Marina.....bad news, is that Jeff there charges $6.50 a dozen.

Usually, Sherri Lyster has good bait. Forgot to try her as I drove through the Baview area, but her place (Lysters Bait and Tackle) is located on the west side of 101 in between Garibaldi and Barview....Sherri's a character but I've always had good luck with her having decent frozen bait.....Good Luck!

Thanks alot guys! we bought our bait at the 76 station along with fresh doughnuts right out of there oven and went fishing. We went nw about 3-4 miles and stated to hit fish in about 225ft of water, 4 rods, 6 silvers, 1 ,23lb nook for my son.4 released. a few more lost at the boat. not like bouy 10 last year but pretty good. hope we can get out again soon if it stays open!

Bullhead,

He must have sold out all the good stuff over the weekend because I was just there today and he had a fresh supply @ 4.50 each.

I'm like Pilar, I like the guy and really try to buy my gas and supplies there when I can. I've had nothing but bad attitudes from the guy at the marina so I try as hard as I can not to send any business his way.

I stay at the transient dock, I get my crabs cooked at the store down the street, and I buy all my supplies elsewhere.
