Default Newport Halibut 5/29

What a beautiful day on the ocean.
Spotted 3 whales on the run out to the ranch and made one drift on the North side. First fish released (42 inches) and these two in the box (45 and 46 inches)

Done fishing before 8 and back at the ramp at 9:20.

Nice slick ocean. 8" Gulp squid were the bait choice of the day. I don't think I will ever use anything else, those baits are just amazing

Nice fish Chris and the call on the radio. I guess we just had to drift over the school. We ended up with a mid 30s and one 40. We were done before 9, had a sandwich and headed in to pull the crab pots, 3 keepers.

Gulp squid? Is this a plastic...fished alone, no live bait added?

Very nice Chris!

Yep, those Gulp! baits do work. I was definately a little hesitant to use them, but they have produced well and are easy to use.

I'm lookn' at the forcast tomorrow and it's lookn' SWEET, I might have to target Salmon, then come back in for some Sturgeon.
