I got several wood duck nest boxes from Salem chapter OHA this year. Got them all up prior to nesting season. Checked them 3 weeks ago and not one nest being used.
Went out yesterday and found half of them now have nesting hens.
Most of the boxes are on metal posts over the water so there should not be a preditor problem and my hopes are high that they will at least have a good hatch. Some of these are in places ( small creeks and ponds) that I was not sure wood ducks used very much. But I was wrong .
