Default Odell/Crescent -- any reports?

What's going on at Odell and Crescent? Any kokanee reports? Water temps, fish size, etc? Surely someone hit it over Memorial Weekend?

Moknots,
Some friends were up at Crescent over Memorial Day. It's been an annual trip for the past 6 or 7 years. They usually target kokanee, but it was really slow for them. The Mack fishing, however, was awesome. I'm not sure what techniques they were using to target them but the landed a bunch and some were real hogs.

Crescent is cold and slow compared to previous years, but seemed to be improving daily. We've fished it Memorial day weekend almost every year for the past 15+ years and this year would rate as one of the slowest. Most years we find easy limits fishing 2 - 4 hours / day split between the morning and evening but that was not the case this year.

Average surface temperature was usually between 40 and 42 degrees. We found schools in all of the usual places, but the best concentrations were near Contorta and Spring. We would almost always hookup when we marked fish, but had a hard time staying on top of them.

Evenings were better than mornings for us and I did pick up a limit on Monday evening. We caught fish both jigging and trolling and about equal rates. Most of the fish we caught were between 11 and 14 inches and surprisingly fat.

Good luck.
