Default Legal to Hunt in Oregon/Wa with Blowgun?

So, I know you can't hunt in Oregon/Wa with a crossbow, but what about a Blowgun? Has anyone hunted with one before? Also, are they considered a firearm?

An interesting website on the subject: http://www.geocities.com/blowgunhunter/

Not for big game, but if you went after gray diggers and other vermin with a blowgun, doubt if anybody would object.

You might just call ODFW and ask about the legal aspect of hunting rabbits, just to be on the safe side. If you get a long pause on the phone followed by a "what?", don't be shocked.

Good luck and have fun.

PETA and the Humane Society have a $2000 bounty on blowgun hunters in the Seattle area. Someone shot a pigeon in the head and it didn't die. Some guy with a camera got a picture of this pigeon with a dart stuck in its head.

HAHA

What a Pin-Head!

$2k Reward in Seattle

and also in New York City.

$1k Reward Ny

Maybe they are frustrated that these pigeons are pulling a Pearl Harbor on their cars and know it's illegal to go shotgun on their butts.

It's weird thought isn't it? My dad used to always tell me stories on how he used to hunt them with air rifles in town and sell them to the local creep who ate em.

Someone definitely didn't use enough gun. Kinda sad actually. I just think about how much it would suck to have a 4 foot dart through my head. With me though, any brain damage is bound to be minor

I just don't know how that pigeon was still alive. He must be one dunce of a bird, or just has no brain.

Mean? Sure. But it's kinda humorous...in a sick way. lol

Yeah, that looks like your standard cheapo toy-like blowgun dart, definitely not fit for hunting game. I'm still curious to know if they are considered a firearm, and if it would be legal to discharge in the city.
.....Also, what about hunting game birds ...legal?

Incase you're serious about these questions, no, not considered a firearm and no, not legal for game birds.
