Default Flat as a pancake???

Just pulled up the bouy report: it looks so flat that they aren't even registering wave height! My son somehow managed to get two ear infections so we bagged it. Especially since the forcast was for 4 and 5. Looks like we missed out on the day we've been waiting for

Hey Salmonator, if you're talking about the Newport weather buoy (46050), yea I noticed that too. But there's something screwy going on. Every hour yesterday until 4 pm it says 15 to 19 knots of breeze, then it goes to zero at 5 pm. Either the wind pooped out faster than we can imagine, or the anemometer is screwed up. Maybe someone at the beach can confirm if there's any breeze..? - Mark

Just got a "live" report from the Rockpile.

There is swell and wind waves. My contact said it was not bad, but "not a picnic" either. Two on the boat had just tossed cookies; one was even wearing a patch.

The boat had made one pass and had a small hali in the boat and was preparing for the second pass. They also reported just a few boats there and speculate most headed for the ranch.

Cell phone report from the rockpile from 'Puffin'.

Limit of FBs at the ranch on 2 drifts. They are now at the Rockpile on a 0 and 4 ocean, no wind. For those in the know it's called 'Jon's King'. First drift and there's a 30+ chromer in the boat and a catch and release FB for a double.

Stay tuned ............

I can smell the bar b q ..........
