Ryan this is almost a sure blast. Park at the Coast guard tower at the N. Jetty and follow the jetty E. for about 100 yards till you see a faint dive flag painted on a N-NW facing rock. It is about 1.5' accross and faded. That is a hole about 50 yards wide. You can cast to the shallower water and let your rig sink to the deeper bottom. You are fishing for green ling.

Tie up a double hook egg loop rig with the hooks about 2' apart and about a 2' leader. Run your mainline through a slider and bead and then tie your main to a swivel and swivel to the leader. Use at least 15lb leader 20lb main. I like to use 2-3oz piramid sinkers as it is a sand bottom. Take a sand shrimp and rip in 2. Head on one hook tail on the other. I sometimes get doubles using this rig it is very effective for the Greenling AKA Seatrout. Be prepared for MR. big. We had several dash into the rocks and set our gear. Reel fast when you hook up and don't let your gear drift into the Jetty. 1.5hrs b4 and after the change is the best.

Try the jetty at barview park. Once it gets dark fire up the lantern and fish the incoming tide. Use a little char. jig with some split shot. Cast it out and let it hit the bottom, then reel in about a foot or two above the bottom. You should have constant hookups. Last time I was there I caught so many fish I actually got tired of fishing. That doesn't happen that often. I caught sea bass on almost every cast. Good luck. Email me, I may be able to go.
