Default Ocean Partner

Plan for the weekend would be to go over bar at low slack and drop crab pots. Go back out at high slack and pull. Here is the deal though, I don't have an extra motor yet, ie kicker, and I don't want to go it alone. Is there anyone else in the T-bay, or Nehalem bay area that would like to go out as a pair of boats and do this? Saturday or sunday would be the days.

All of the above is weather permitting of course...

Anyone interested?

Pete - I guess you get to go it alone or stay in the bay. I think you will find several other boaters in the area.

If you go out of Tillamook stay about even with the jetty tips and head south 1/2 to 2 miles. You will find a nice sandy bottom and usually plenty of crabs. Stay away from the jetty as it will do major damage to the "Macdaddy". Besides for tides, breakers, other holiday boaters, etc.... I would be concerned with getting a crab pot rope in the outdrive on your boat. When picking up your pot if you miss the float it could easily get in your prop. It will only take a second to kill your one and only drive system with a bunch of crab pot rope around the prop. Also watch for other peoples floats as running over a pot that you didnt see would/could take you out also. You wont have long to clear it before you would wash into the breakers on the beach.

Be careful and have fun with your little ones if you go.
