Re: Raffle Tag winners 08
I was just going to say something about this. Did anyone else notice a few frequent names/winners? Holy smokes, either these guys buy a lot of tickets, or they have some serious mojo!
Alfredo Julian
2008: Statewide combo elk/ deer
Bighorn Sheep
2007: Statewide combo elk/deer
Rky. Mountain Goat
Runner Up: Bighorn Sheep
2006: Central Oregon Deer
Look back over the last 3 years, seriously, what are the odds that the same guys gets drawn for 1-3 hunts, EVERY year out of 3,000-8,000 tickets?

Re: Raffle Tag winners 08
he buys enough to turn it into an auction instead of a raffle, him and Gerald Warnock (EPIC Imaging) are dumping a ton of money into the raffle, goggle both those names and you can see where the money comes from and some other exotic hunts they have been on, I think Alfredo imported a Polar Bear from canada a couple years ago:
Applicant: Julian Alfredo, Vancouver, WA
The applicant requests a permit to import a polar bear (Ursus
maritimus) sport hunted from the Norwegian Bay polar bear population in
Canada for personal use.
Applicant: Alfredo Julian, Vancouver, WA, PRT-080046.
The applicant requests a permit to import the sport-hunted trophy
of one male bontebok (Damaliscus pygargus dorcas) culled from a captive
herd maintained under the management program of the Republic of South
Africa, for the purpose of enhancement of the survival of the species.

Re: Raffle Tag winners 08
Luck has nothing to do with it for Alfredo. I don't know the guy or who he is but I see his name every year in the raffles.
2008 he got Big Horn Sheep and Combo Statewide Deer and Elk
2007 he got Statewide Combo Deer and Elk, Mt. Goat, and 1st alternate Bighorn sheep
2006 he got Central Oregon Deer
I mean you have got to drop some serious cash to win like that every year, year in year out. The records only go to 2006 but I remember years before that and always seeing his name. Wish I had that cash, imagine getting to hunt Wenaha almost every year!LOL!!! Must be rough!

Re: Raffle Tag winners 08
Interesting in the auction winners, too...at least one apparent husband/wife team up for elk and deer:

Re: Raffle Tag winners 08
Twice I've sat at RMEF banquets and had buddies on BOTH sides of me win rifles. Some of them are lucky, and we are not. I'd rather be one of them!

Re: Raffle Tag winners 08
yea I just wonder how much money the put in every year. Russell Bingaman is another that is always on the northeast oregon deer. Also does taking your tickets to the banquet give you a better chance at winning than mailing them in? Maybe I need to start going to the banquet.
