Default Boat garage in Newport

As some of you know, I store my boat in Newport in a storage unit, aka boat garage. I think the size of the unit I have is 42 ft by 14 ft and it has a high door--at least when I open it all the way! It's not cheap, but I'm happy keeping my boat there and the price of fuel for going back and forth just makes the storage unit seem like a better deal to me.

I'm told there are a few units available, if you're interested pm me and I'll pm back with the contact info.

Each year for the past few years, about this time, I wander online dealerships and dockside inventories of salty boats, realizing that I would need storage somewhere because my house isn't equpped to park anything over 20 feet. Plus, my other two boats are more or less filling any available space anyway. Each year I think maybe next year.

Storing a salty boat in a cozy, locked garage at the coast is a great idea, one that I will definitely look into. This option saves on fuel and wear and tear from the elements, and gives you a protected place to do maintenance and repairs when the weather is nasty.

Plus, it give you a place to store gear, crab pots, etc.; keep a bait freezer; and cuts down on the amount of gear that you have to load on and off the boat.
