Default Woke up to a BOOM

Yup, at 4:45 there was a huge rolling crackle/boom, followed by a flash. More followed for the next half hour. One was pretty close as there was a very bright flash followed immediately by the loudest rolling boom of the morning. When it does this it is really loud here, since we are hemmed in close by the surrounding hills.

Getting thunder and lightning is pretty rare here for this time of year. But looking at the sky last night it did look possible. Only 62 degrees this morning, and a quick shower followed. I love this kind of weather, but the wife hates the thunder. Now it's quiet as the woods with the roosters cawwing, the songbirds singing, and the crickets....hmm, cricketing?

Sounds like some sort of hunting weather. Glad to see more Spring rain. Trying to get the hay fields in better shape.

I love lightning shows and thunder storms. Too bad they just don't make them well, here.

The lightning and thunder shows may be really cool to watch but just remember this one lil thing. Over 70-80% of Oregons wildfires are started by lightening!!!!! Those of us that fight these fires are looking ahead at the summer outlook and thinking that this could very well be a very bad fire year.
