Another Saturday Report
Four of us fished the 'ranch out of Newport. Got the first two fish by about 10 am. Then it seemed to completely shut off. Not a hit for about 5 hours. With the lazy swell & the sunshine it was real hard staying awake or interested. Started making comments to each other about "maybe we should chase salmon at the rockpile." But we agreed, came all this way, it's flat, let's stick it out. Then at 3:30 a shaker, and a few light hits. Then hit a 55 lb'er. Made another quick drift over same spot and immediately got the 4th. Saw other boats starting to land fish late also.
