Default First trip to Hagg this year

I went out to Hagg today, 05/18/08. We got on the water about 6:00am and trolled around the east end for about one hour with two bumps and no hookups. Then we went to the west end of the lake, anchored up in 12' feet of water. We used Power Bait and got into the fish. The ticket was 3' of 2lb leader and tan Power Bait. The bite slowed at about 10:00.

I switched to a worm, six feet under a bobber and started hooking up again. Finished up at noon with about 10-12 trout, 1 perch and 1 palm sized blue gill.

We took five trout home and put them on the BBQ. I have been told that the planters in Hagg are not very good eating. I have not eaten trout in a long time but these were as good as I remember any trout tasting.

If any of you were out there today I was in the red Weldcraft Pursuit. I think I’m going to start fishing Hagg a bit more with the gas prices so high and Hagg being so close.

See ya out there.
