Default Anyone know this guy?

I saw this dream machine maxcat in garibaldi having an outdrive serviced on Sunday. Anyone know this guy? I would love to get an inside look at this boat.

I belongs to a guy in Tillamook with the last name of Hopkes. There are several Hopkes in the area, they are big time loggers. I cant remember if it belongs to David or Marvin Hopkes, but I think it is David that owns that boat and fishes.

He had another boat before this one that looks about the same that he went and did some commercial fishing with in Alaska.

The boat in the picture can get to the halibut grounds and be coming back with a load before the next boat even gets to the fishing area. It hauls a$$. No expense spared is what I was told when he had it built.

If you want I can get his number for you. My dad knows him pretty well.

Last I heard, the boat was for sale. You may want to call the Garabaldi marina or the Port of Garabaldi for more information. I believe the price was in the 280's but I may be wrong. For all the times I have fished Tillamook (have a boat moored there) I only see the "Hopper" out on rare occasions. The boat is made by Maxcat and is manufactured in Hebo Oregon.

(Sorry I missed a "2" in my price when I did typed my original post, I would have bought it for 80K)

His last name is Hopkees or Hopkes. I know a friend of his -- he just dumped a bunch of money into his outdrive and I guess he had some problems right at the bar on the way in Friday.

I'll get you his name over the weekend....I know he is not a happy camper right now with his mechanic.

Nobody is faster to the halibut grounds than this guy -- although the boys in the Robolo and JB & Water are close.

If that thing is in the 80s I will buy it and sell it at a massive profit. I would guess more like 180. Hell, the trailer is probably worth 15 grand. BOE, if you have the guys number, I would love to talk to him.

I have seen the boat out Halibut fishing last year. Pretty cool toy.

Kurt
I just sent you an email with his number.

I was told the boat even has a fresh water system from salt water on board.
