Yes, I can help as I'm a student taking a field biology class at Portland Community College. It is supposed to be the equivalent of the Oregon State University Wildlife FW 251 for 3 credits. I had to pay the PCC fee for 4 credits, but whose keeping track of expenses. :-)

I was recently tasked with a similiar homework assignment and course requirement.

Just google 'North American Wildlife Conservation Model'. Look in the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation website. Key on Dr. Giest and Shane Mahoney, two Canadian supporters of what is and has occurred, and they have written plenty on the system of hunting that we enjoy in USA & that has benefited Wildlife North America, Mexico, USA, and our Canadian brothers.

Also, use the material coming from Orion- The Hunter's Institute, Helena, MT. Key on the 4 books written by Jim Posewitz. They are literary 'gold'.

This book has a great vision of conservation which is largely centered around hunting. It also has many many different alternate views that people may or may not think about.
You could look up some of his quotes and alot of them are centered around your topic.

Bugle Magazine full of things about "elk camps for kids", getting kids involved in the outdoors. Duck Unlimited has some good stuff as well.

hm....Talk about the federal stamp and license programs. That all this money goes straight to conservation and is one of if not the largest conservation programs in the nation. Im sure there is some info on the program in google scholar or another site.

Believe it or not, I was looking at the Politically Incorrect handbook for hunters (I think that was the title, but I'm not sure, if it isn't it's darn close) and it has a TON of good information and I think that most of it was cited too.
