Default Salmon Fishing off Glen Eden Beach

Has anyone had any experience/success fishing for salmon off the coast near Glen Eden Beach on up to Salishan and Lincoln Beach? I have heard the Chinook can be moving up and down the coast line there in 30-60 feet of water, just outside the surf line. When it's too rough to go to the Rock Pile, it may be an other option closer to shore. Any ideas?

Hi, we heard this rumor too and last summer tried trolling the 30 fathom line with down riggers.

We caught quillback and yelloweye, but no nookies.

Maybe next time we'll try closer to the beach. The only problem is the distance you have to travel. You would launch at Depoe and then go north along the beach. I think you'll find a rough trip is standard on any day you wouldn't try the rockpile. The prevailing wind and swell in the summer is from the NW. So you'd be going into it the whole way there.

The Indian casino in Lincoln City is about 10 miles up the beach from the launch point.

Thanks. I spoke with a commercial salmon fisherman who fished there 10-15 years ago and I've never heard of anyone else since. You make a good point about the weather. I fished there last July and caught only silvers.
