Alsea Bay crabs
I took a bunch of teenagers over to waldport to go crabbing yesterday. With all the rain I had serious doubts. As it turned out, we should have gone with my hunch and stopped in Newport. We crabbed a solid 6 hours, 9 traps and 5 rings and managed 2 keepers. Tons of females. At least it was fun to hear what is on the teenagers' minds as they talked. It was not a wasted day but the poor crabbing made for a pretty slim crab feed last night.
