Default To the "counters" & "anti-counters"

My high horse puh-lease!

Geeez, I know 5-cents well. As a matter of fact, I have spent days, yup numerous days fishing with him. He counts fish. It used to bug the bejeebers out of me. I don't count fish...Well, I guess I did when we first fished together because I felt the need to "compete." It really bothered me. After a while, I just started laughing it off and just enjoyed his company, humor & knowledge. Also, he brought me out of the "Bait" and was very very instrumental in teaching me how to flyfish.
5-cent's is also correct about the "Season Total" post. It was the "big" post last year & there was one the year before too. He was just doing the annual duty of count totals. Who cares? I just saw it, saw the writer & laughed. We all fish for different reasons. All are right (well, almost anyway)..I don't count or keep totals, some do. Oh sure, I had a 18 steelhead day on the Trask (it was a 1/2 day mind you) and I've also has 18 days with 0 fish. Who cares? If some people want to use this as a forum, tool, enertainment, resource center, knowledge sharing & meeting place for friends to share stories, well...then there you go! It IS ALL THAT!

Now STOP THIS CRAP & Fish!

To count or not to count. Does it really matter? I can count but then when you get out fishing a few times a year any fish you catch are memorable(also easily counted on 1 hand). Back when I fished a lot I did keep track one year. I know the day Troy fished with DJ last year they counted and much grumbling was heard about rowing down river in the dark to get to the spot where they did the mass hooking. If you have a great day on the river post it so we all can give you the appropriate response.

When I take the wife with us sturgeon fishing she always keeps count on who caught the most fish. I think it adds a little something to the trip and usually provides some ribbing at the end of the day.

I would show my yearly totals if I hadn't ran out of fingers and toes to count them on back in february

I have no problem with people counting or bragging about how many they catch.

it isnt that they catch any more fish then me. I have some good days one with another ifisher where we hooked 18 chinook and boated 8 chrme bright sea lice covered beauties.

opps I bragged

I don't count because it would be too depressing. The fingers of one hand would be more than enough.

What's wrong with counting fish?

What's wrong about not counting fish?

Who really cares if you don't & someone else does?

Why do some fishers have such a beef when someone does something different than the way they do?

Why would you even respond & slam on someone who has a completely different reason, motivation, or focus on why or how they fish?

We are all very different. I would like to see this board a bit more civil & respectful to others who differ in opinion or motive.

Thanks.
