crab gear- No holdingpots??

Can someone clear this up for me? In the Or fishing regs it states "no holding pots or live boxes in the ocean" Does this mean that all the crab boxes or traps with doors are not legal?

The way I read it, refers to live boxes, not traps or pots, Danielson box traps...some dock have holding pens for people to keep their catches in... unless they have a permit it would be illegal... Steve

I think they are trying to prevent you from leaving a pot out there with tomorrows limit in it and coming back for it later.

You can leave your gear in overnight, but realize that the weather may prevent you from recovering it or even finding it later.

As a rule I do not leave anything in the ocean overnight ... it's just common sense.
