Default south or north of the pile?

If I head out for Halibut tomorrow, I'm only planning on going as far as the rock pile. I've had marginal success on the south end of the pile in the past, is the North end more productive?

They both have their days. Typically I would say that the south end gets more pressure and has been more consistent for me.

The last day we fished halibut last year though, the north end was bumper boats.

Seems like the north end is a much smaller area where most boats fish where the south end people really spread out.

Will probably see you there.

We went to south end and north today only saw three boats. we did not see any caught. we only caught 6 red fish and one ling returned all no halibut. any one that went to ranch seemed to catch fish fast but average seemed to be small sized at ranch.
