Ship Creek Fishing....(other than kings)

I have quite a few layovers in Anchorage and curious what kind of trout fishing can be found in Ship Creek....if any? We usually stay at the Captain Cook downtown so I wanted something within walking distance. Any fish around there.

On a separate note....How about Fairbanks? Have layovers there as well. I've stood on the bridge on the river that goes right down-town and have seen trout underneath. Is there any other rivers/streams within walking distance from downton?

There are a bunch of ponds in Fairbanks that hold fish. I'd say google earth it and give it a try. Spent a few summers in Faribanks and had a blast.

Ship Creek has most strains of salmon except reds. It is COMBAT fishing during the king run. Achorage has lots of nice creeks and ponds around with good fishing.

Fairbanks has a lot of pike fishing pretty much every where you go. Grayling in the Chena River along with whitefish burbot and salmon and pike. stocked rainbows in ponds around the area.
