Would anyone like a big goofy GSP
His name is Clyde, he is about 2 years old, maybe a little older, he is a liver and white, he is VERY big, about 3 inches above standard height. He is very loving, attentive, and somewhat birdy. He has had no formal training, but points birds all the time. I have no idea what his linage is, all I know is that he is purebred and came with paper, but the guy didn't sign them, and then wouldn't answer the phone, when we tried to get them signed for AKC. He is just a family dog now, but he really needs a job, he is bored and when he is bored he gets in trouble. He jumps our fence and visits the neighbor's cow, doesn't chase them or anything, just points at them. He also points at the other neighbors chickens, he is very smart, and has figured out how to unlock the deadbolt on our back door, and he gets out. He got out the other day(my fault, I didn't block the door as well as lock it) and he killed all our baby ducks and most of our chicks. I know he is a bird dog and is really supposed to kill birds, but he really made me mad. He didn't break the skin on any of the those babies(impressive) just shook them and broke their little bones, it was very quick, he did 6 birds, catching and killing in less than twenty minutes.
So, he is NOT perfect, but with work and training, he may make a GREAT bird dog. He is my son's and he won't do any training, so I'm done. I paid $200 for him, he was 6 months old, so IF my son could get $50 for him that would be great, but we just want him to have a good home, where he MAY have a job to keep him out of trouble. Call if you are interested 503-556-4691, I can email pics of him, just can't seem to get them uploaded here.
Thank you for reading my rant

Re: Would anyone like a big goofy GSP
I would get in sooooo much trouble if I added another dog
I have 4 and am dog sitting my Sister-in-Laws 2.... so I got 6 right now. Sounds like a great dog for someone who wants to hunt and work with him and give him a job. I love GSP's. I will put the word out. Shoot me an email with pics and I can post them for you.. and I love pictures of dogs anyway.

Re: Would anyone like a big goofy GSP
Just some more info on him, someone asked a few good question. Here are some answers to burning questions you may have His name is Clyde, he does have some basic training, know sit, lay down(usually yelled at him ) stay(not for long though), he does NOT lead well on a leash, doesn't know heal(the son never taught him that one), he is very smart and wants to please, will learn quickly if you spend time with him. He does not appear to be gun-shy, I don't know about water we have never taken him swimming. He doesn't mind the rain though, he likes to be outside when it is raining. He is house broken, and is an indoor/outdoor dog. He does get on the furniture(all our dogs do). He loves everyone, and will help the burglar steal the TV if they will pet him, however he will tell you if someone is at the door. He sounds big and mean, the neighbor kids don't like to come visit, cause he tries to lick them to death and is too excited to see them, and knocks them over.
I don't think he digs, but it could be him. WE have SIX dogs and one of them digs, I think it is one of the bassets, I've never seen HIM digging. He isn't dog or people aggresive that I know of, except when one of our girls are in heat. He is intact. He loves to go in the car. He needs a TALL fence, and lots of exercise. If anyone has any other questions don't hesitate to ask. We just want him to have a great home and a job to do, to keep him out of trouble.

Re: Would anyone like a big goofy GSP
I'm thinking that maybe he should be an only dog, or maybe no male dogs. Our other male GSP attacked him(he didn't start it), and he pretty much ended it. He bit our other boy pretty bad, nothing that won't be okay with time, just looks bad now(brusing, no stitches or anything). He would make a great possible hunter, he is getting birdyish.
My hubby NOW doesn't want to get rid of him, but I still think he needs more attention and a job, no one will take him out hunting and stuff, what's a dog to do?(get in trouble that's what)
If interested I can bring him to you, most of the metro area, to see if he gets along with all the family, cats, dogs, and such, then if it doesn't work out I could always just bring him back home.
PM if interested, Thank you
