Today is a Great Day
I really just wanted to share with others because today has just been awesome.
As some of you know i have been trying to get out of debt. Well Monday i attended a job fair with Starbucks and Tuesday i received a call back for a second interview. Well i just had my second interview with Starbucks. And i got some awesome news. Starting in two weeks i will officially be a barista with them! Meaning that in 10-15 weeks i will be officially out of debit and able to put aside money for other things such as. Car payments to get out of that debit earlier, new cloths, etc... And i will finally have a job where there excellent opportunity for promotion and, excellent benefits.
After looking around everywhere and i do mean everywhere it is such a releif knowing this. Best thing of it all is that i can keep my full time job as well. Yea i know some of you are saying "What 2 jobs!" Well all the resarch i have done online says the easiest way to get out of debit is well get the money and pay it off. And thats just whats going to happen. The way i see it, i created this problem and I'm gonna fix it. If i have to work 60 hours a week to do so. So be it. Dosent really matter though as i am a night owl and can handle the work load.
Along with the awesome benefits they offer heres the best part. Free coffee while on the clock as well as a employee discount. Meaning i save even more money in the long run!

Re: Today is a Great Day
Yeah, the great thing about having two jobs is that you're at work, so you can't spend any money on entertainment.
then when you get home, you're too tired to spend any money on entertainment.
you'll be outta debt in no time. just be careful with all the free caffeine available, you need to sleep sometime.

You have a good goal and a solid plan. stick to it! to help out with all that time you will be spending working you wont need things like a home phone or tv service so you can cancel those now too!

Re: Today is a Great Day
You have exactly the right attitude on this issue. Can't pay off debt with not enough money!
If you can swing it (and new employees can get it), put the maximum into the 401(k). I think they may also have an employee discount on stock purchases, which you should consider (although the stock's pretty discounted right now )
Dave Ramsey would be proud!

Congrats on the second job, enjoy the bennies
And good for you for having a plan to get out of debt anf following through with it.
The first step to creating wealth is the reduction of debt, then comes savings, which you wil no doubt see fairly soon.
Come see me in a year or 3 and well talk about getting you into your own home.
I admire your work ethic and determination

I agree with everything fishbait said! And a big for having the determination to get out of debt. You're doing what you have to do and I admire that! Keep it up and you'll be ahead in no time!
