best catch at odell this season + report

Was at Odell Friday through Monday and the fishing was slow. The snow was impressive though.

my friends camper was dwarfed. trapper creek may be campable by July.

princess maybe by june. the road into sunset was plowed open but did not check the campground. we fished friday night, saturday morning with one 22" mack on kokanee gear.

surface temp at odell was around 36 when we arrived and got to almost 40 when we left. went to wickiup on sunday after hearing how good it was from some other guys staying at the cabins. we managed 21 for 5 rods with at least that many lost. temp was 45.

what can i say. she fishes, baits her own hook, shoots deer and is a great cook.. i'm a lucky guy. plan on getting married early next year.

hope the report helps. hope to get up there and try it again if gas ever gets realistic again.

What a catch! Keeper!! Just remember not to stretch any vital statistics! By the way, sometimes their desire to go fishing wanes after they "land the big one" (that might be YOU). Don't ask me how I know!

Right on! Beats any of my recent reports! Ditto what moknots said. My wife used to go deer hunting and fishing. No more, but she does'nt discourage me from fishing every week.

For that and many other reasons she's a keeper too.

nothing better to have a fishing and hunting partner and a friend all rolled into one especially if they are your off spring. So many times we are unable to look upon our children as our friends.
Looks like you have figured that all out at a early age.

Way to go JayMan.

My bride went the other way, had no interest at all in fishing when we got married, but now loves it, even gets up and out of the RV for the morning catch.

Sometimes a late night cruise with a little bubbly also helps keep their interest

thanks for all the good wishes.

FRG- we were jigging. 1 oz. pink and white gibbs. it took us a while to find the fish. first few hours we saw a lot of boats getting fish within 150 yds of us and we had just a few bites. moved and found a school and sat on them and had a lot of action. lost a bunch. i hope odell gets hot for those going up this weekend. the water temp should be getting into the zone. just one more self-indulgent pic.
