Default Preserving Sand Shrimp

Can anyone give me a good method for curing Sand Shrimp? I would like to keep them as close to natural as possible and freeze them. I don't use enough of them to make constant trips to the tackle store. If they are frozen fresh and then thawed out they are very soft and won't stay on the hook very long and usually loose some of their natural color.
quote:

Use eggs or frozen prawn tails instead.

sand shrimp don't last at all. either you go to the trouble to buy them fresh or fish something else.
