Default Wilson Report

Fished the Wilson the last three days and also the Saturday before Christmas with a couple of friends. What a great four days on the river! On Saturday, the river was a little on the high side, but we found fish all the way from Mills to Sollie, ending up 3 for 5. Wednesday of this week, the water had dropped a ton but we were able to find fish again spread throughout the drift, ending the day limited on 6 for 9. Thursday, we found a pocket of fresh fish in the morning and we were able to limit on 6 fish by 11:00, with all of them caught in about an hour. Today, we snuck into the acclimation pond drift for the first time and we were able to leave there before noon with a chrome 25 lb. hen chinook plus a nice hatchery steelhead, having release three others and losing another three. We found two more for a limit before taking out at Sollie. All in all a truly great week! It seemed as if the action has slowed dramatically, as most of the boats we talked to hadn't done much. And that was a lot of boats!!! It was tough enough just finding a place to fish as everyone and their brother must have been on the Wilson.
