Default nfr turkey fryer

am going to buy a turkey fryer tomorrow.i have seen some that are 24 or 26 qt. and some that are 30qt.will the smaller one be good enough or do any of you recomend the bigger one ? have also seen pictures of people using the basket to submerge the bird and others using just the hanger.any advice would be appreciated. thanks

Puddles - I am from the era of bigger is better. A bigger pot will cook more crabs per batch, hold a bigger turkey (dont forget the spud ) Of course it will take more oil to fill it up also.

As far as basket or hanger, I have only used the hanger and watched Emeril Lagasse use the hanger so it must be the best way to do it.

T'ain't the size of the pot, but the BTU of the burner you should look at... I picked up a 30 Quart / 170,000 BTU unit at Lowe's which seems to cover both sides of the equation.
