Default Silver Lake, WA. Afternoon trip

Our first trip to Silver Lake. Launched at Silver Lake Resort and proceeded to troll east with Roostertails (black/silver and glitter orange)for 20 minutes for trout. No strikes. My 8 and 13 year old boys begin to get antsy, so we ran up to the east end canals in search of crappie using black, green, and white crappie jigs with crappie nibbles. 70 minutes, no hits. Next we anchored in 5 ft of lily pad water and soaked nitecrawlers on the bottom for catfish. Nothing for 60 minutes. Boys want to go home. Haul in the anchor and let the east wind push us west back toward the launch, crappie jigs just barely scraping bottom. 3 strikes, one small LM bass tails walks up to the boat on the 8 year olds rod and spits the hook. Now he's smiling and wants to stay another 3 hours ! But we can't, gotta head for the barn. We'll be back!

If other fish are not active the carp can save a fishing trip or even a guide trip from time to time.
