Not sure about open carry in Multnomah Co. but I know that concealed carry regs vary by county in Oregon...

I didn't see anything in your attachment about open/concealed carry prohibition as long as you have a license to do so. Am I missing something?

Only $15 for the holster, i got 2 magazines for my savage .17hmr also at $13 each, with shipping on everything it was $60. They had to ship the mags from a seperate warehouse so the shipping total was kinda high.

Even with the shipping it was still considerbaly less than anything i found around here. I'm not on a SWAT team so i dont need some $100 contraption. I figured that for $15 if i didn't like it i would send it back or give it away.

Not trying to argue here but Oregon's concealed carry laws are part of the Oregon Revised Statutes, which trump county/city ordinances.

BTW - nice holster!

ORS 166.173 Authority of city or county to regulate possession of loaded firearms in public places. (1) A city or county may adopt ordinances to regulate, restrict or prohibit the possession of loaded firearms in public places as defined in ORS 161.015.
(2) Ordinances adopted under subsection (1) of this section do not apply to or affect:
(a) A law enforcement officer in the performance of official duty.
(b) A member of the military in the performance of official duty.
(c) A person licensed to carry a concealed handgun.
(d) A person authorized to possess a loaded firearm while in or on a public building or court facility under ORS 166.370. [1995 s.s. c.1 §4; 1999 c.782 §8]

Yeah, but (1) does apply to those who do not have a concealed carry license. This means that without one, local ordinance trumps the open carry law. So a lot of cities ban open carry without a concealed carry license. Salem, where I live, is one of them.

City ordinance also bans, interestingly enough, pea shooters, even if you do have a concealed carry license. So the CCW is everything. Without one in Salem, you can't even use a pea shooter against a bad guy mugging you on the street.

That's my point precisely! Referencing concealed carry kind of indicates that you're talking about CHP holders - hence the highlighted exception in my post.

Nice holster for hunting or being off the normal road. I think you would look kinda dorky wearing that downtown somewhere, unless your downtown Fort Rock.
