Default Toyota Battery

The battery in my wifes 1998 Toyota Camry went south, so I have the new one to replace it with. My question is, do I need to do anything with the airbags to prevent them from deploying? It seems I have heard of disabling airbags before changing batteries, but don't know. Anyone have any experience with that?
Thanks,
Fishy

I've never heard of that, and I used to swap batteries for a living. You might loose your radio stations that you have saved, but that's it.

In my fire department training they say to take the cable off the battery to disable the airbags and render the car safe (in that respect). could you be confused and have it backwards?

Default Re: Toyota Battery: UPDATE

I went ahead and replaced the battery with no problems. Owners manual said talk to Toyota before changing the battery, and it seems I read somewhere about it could deploy the air bag, but that could have just been a brain ****! Anyway thanks for your info.
