Default Was it the first Newport butt of 2008

Was it the first Newport butt???? the checker said it was.
We went out for a quick look see, and the wife caught a dink in the first 5 minutes (32"). I would usually never keep one this small but it was my wifes tag and it looked delicious. Then she started getting ill, so I went and pulled my 5 potsd after a 3 day soak. Still lots of females and only 9 males but they were real good sized.
A friend caught another butt as we were leaving.
