Just got this, thought I would share it....

It is amazing the information that people create and distribute for free on the internet.
For those of you who have and use Garmin GPS units, here is a link that you really need to visit: http://www.miscjunk.org/mj/mp_main.html
This person is downloading all of the latest DEM's and other mappingdata sets and creating his own 24k quad level topo maps for Garminreceivers. He has completed Montana, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado and another person has completed Arizona and they are working on California. The Arizona map link: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/1/
If you have anything such as a 60csx, 76csx or even the Etrex models this is fantastic software. If you have the Garmin Topo software whether the new or old version, this blows it away. He gives it away for free, but I gave him a donation, which is well deserved. There is a group of people in the geocaching circle that are really working on mapping for their GPS units and they take it very seriously. The new Garmin Colorado unit has been out since January and these people really are critical of every little bug in them, they seem to expect survey accuracy at all times with these units.
As long as there are people out there creating these fancy programs and software items, our jobs can get easier for the planning and other stages of our work.
