O.k., I'll admit I still might believe a little bit in Santa Claus after 28 years. Who wouldn't after he sent me home Christmas morning with a beautiful 12# buck, that I fooled after about 10 casts :grin: What a great fight alone that morning, and a great time to be with God too.

This fish rounded out 3 fish for 3 trips in the last week :grin: What a lucky guy :smile:

Thanks to Pete for posting the pics, hopefully it works :smile:

Can't wait till I can actually head to the coast for the rest of my vacation this week.

It was a beautiful day on the coast. Here are 3 fish that we caught. I of course caught the 2 biggest ones....The 15 lb buck was caught using a bobber and a sand shrimp. 1st time I ever tried that method. Thanks to Ifish I am learning new tricks!

That fish was caught dritfting a small corky and yarn combo with a #1 VMC hook. Corky was an orange creamsicle color, and the yarn was a very hard to find orange . I put some shrimp scent on, and the buck couldn't resist that sandshrimp looking thing :grin: I had also got a 9# hen on the Sandy two days before on the very exact same hook, corky and leader !.

I've gone fishless the last two short trips I've gone on. I hope that will change with my trip tomorrow. :grin: I think it's going to be the Nestucca from Farmers down. Pray for better wind conditons.

Nice fish FWF1, from the bridge I would guess that you were at the Oregon fishing club property on Eagle creak in Estacada.I used to fish those waters before the club bought the rights to fish there and kicked everybody out.I also fish the creak but I fish upstream at the boys camp,at the present time I am allowed to fish there exclusively at the permission of homeowners I know.This week I noticed people driving down to the second falls and went to investagate and was informed that the Oregon fishing club had recently purchased the exclusive rights to fish here also then I was rudly asked to leave.This will be the second time on the same river where that club has managed to buy out accesss for regular fishing folk.IM NOT BITTER and by the way if I see any of those 'club members' on boys camp property or on the private property below the second falls I will be the one asking someone to leave

Yup, thats the OFC bridge on Eagle Creek. That particular landowner also lets his friends and family access his land. Just the benefits of having creekside property I guess. As far as the other property you mentioned, yes the OFC now has "exclusive" ( whatever that might mean)fishing to this particular piece of land. That guy was fed up with people tresspassing, littering , and poaching. I guess the final straw were the guys SHOOTING SILVERS, and the enormous amount of money he had to spend in policing the area.
Sorry you were rudely asked to leave, as this is not the general demeanor of most people I encounter fishing the club waters. Also, the OFC does not buy the land it provides, it simply leases the access to the water from the property owners. On streams such as Eagle Creek, much of the land is already privately owned. Some is Timber land. Fences clearly divide the correct boundaries. We also currently have temporary permission to fish the adjacent land downstream. We will maintian a clean area there as well.

p.s. When we were looking for a house, there was one available on the creek that bordered the hatchery. My wife said it was too far to drive :depressed:

pps. If you ask the right people, anyone can fish the boys camp during the week. If this is the same area I believe it is.
