Default Washdown pump/install

Who would you recommend in the Portland area to install a washdown pump on an aluminum boat.

I was thinking of the Shurflo 3.4GPM model. Is this one decent and are there others out there in the same price range that are similar or better?

I just brought in some christmas gifts to have North River install. I was very impressed with their service. On time & excellent worksmanship.

I would recommend the 5 gal/min pump. Bigger is always better. Do a search on the internet and you'll find some good deals. Go to ebay and type in washdown pump and you'll get a few options as well. As far as install I can't help ya, I'm from up north.

Try installing it yourself. It's really very easy to do. Just make sure you have the right size hole saw for drilling through the transom. Other than that it's a snap.
Get the biggest pump you can. Bigger is better in this case. More pressure is good for cleaning up the nasty on the floor.

If you mount it yourself, mount it close to the water line to aid priming. You will also want to provide and easy way to drain both sides in cold weather. A pair of hose y's with shut offs should work.

Make sure you get one that can can run dry and not burn out. Also make sure it can handle salt water, if you will be in salt water. easy to install.
