Default Oregon Tuna Classic in Newport

Just got off the phone with Betty at South Beach Marina and they have plenty of space open for the July 12th weekend.

I know some thought it was sold out but I think they have had some openings due to cancellations.

Give them a call at 541-867-3321

There are some openings. I swapped my slip last weekend for one with more dock room . I am now in B-70. It was not available a month ago. There were three more on B Dock, and some on C Dock Friday. When I first booked a month ago there were only a couple of 26 and under left. I think a lot of folks left.

They have had some cancellations from the reduced salmon season.
They have quite a few open spaces in the marina and in the RV park.

Tunadog,

I called the marina this AM and they said that I can't reserve transient moorage, but there may be some sort of deal between the OTC and the harbormaster.

Is there any way to reserve transient moorage in Newport?

That would be a long way to run and not have a place to dock my boat.

Thanks,

Mike C

Normally transient moorage in Newport is on a first come basis and finding space has not been a problem in the past with people bringing their boats down..granted we didn't fish last year but people still brought their boats and were able to find space.

We will check with the port to see if they can set aside some space...

Thanks Del. I'm planning on fishing Newport the week before and after the OTC..they said sorry...can't reserve anything for you...first come first serve. Looks like I'll be fishing the week before for sure and moving into a transient slip.
