Should be. I still usually wear polypropolne long johns underneath. More comfy that way, too.

The advantage of thinner neoprenes is lack of bulkiness. The disadvantages are shorter life. This especially applies to me because I walk through the feet. In addition, thinner waders are colder. It is easy to fix the cold thing, just wear wool socks and fleece leggings, but I usually use the 5 mils anyway. I'm a big guy, so I have plenty of ballast to overcome the bulkiness. Skinny dudes beware. A bulky wader in fast water is just the ticket for a swim downstream.

I use the 3.5mm neoprene waders. Like 24/48 and snapset said. Wear some polyproplene or fleece. I sometimes wear my pants, but they get a little un-comfortable. I 2nd snapset floating away. I'm not a big guy and the 3.5mm is all I care for in the swift water. The 3.5mm seam to be plenty warm and buoyant enough for me!

It's what you wear under them that makes them warm!!
I use breathables and I am very rarely cold. however 1. they fit right!!!!! and 2. I wear the right stuff underneath.

I wear simms guide weight fleece underear and a pair of patagonia el capaline pants..
I am sure there are budget alternatives but i don't know what they are..
The worst thing to wear is jeans!!!
