i saw a show on tv where they converted an f-150 to have a propane option, you might want to google it, i cant remember the name of the show but its the one where they are always working on cars with the checkerboard floor shop, two guys who can rebuild an engine in about 5 minutes between commercials!!!

I used to own a couple trucks that ran on propane and gas. The cost of the conversion is tough to make up over time, especially with the current cost of propane.

The trucks ran well on propane, but sometimes I had a little trouble when I had to switch back to gas or vice versa. Nothing too major, but every once in a while they would sputter a little for a while after the switch. These were Chevy's with carbed 454's by the way, and the mileage was the same with regular gas or propane.

What was the conversion cost? Also, did you have a problem finding propane while traveling? I read that this year an option will be available to have new F-150's sent to a Ford partner for a full conversion- I'm a little worried about that when going to remote rural areas.

My father's friend had a pickup that ran on propane, apparently it offered lackluster performance.

Either way the Some Sheik gets your $$,since propane is a waste product of petro refinement.

I had a 350 chev converted. It ran ok it may have been a little less power than gas. The thing is most propane is priced with out road tax, add that and your right up there. The only real advantage, it was never cold blooded.
