Rant! Salem Statesman news paper
I couldn't begin to count the times I've had wet papers or thrown some where other than the porch, where the lady said they are supposed to be. That is every day. This AM I went out to get mine, my neighbors was a foot from his door. I finally found mine under my PU the bag open. The paper has a 800# to call for problems now. Guess they outsourced customer service also. They sure don't have any there. Found it on the roof once.

Sounds like my Oregonian carrier. He thinks anywhere in the same ZIP code is close enough.

Re: Rant! Salem Statesman news paper
We must have the same carrier ! My paper can be found in the bushes, under a car, on the lawn, it is NEVER close to being in the same spot. I have to seek it out every morning.
I did have a carrier a year ago, or so who would prop the paper against the door, when you opened the door, the paper fell in the house.

Re: Rant! Salem Statesman news paper
I guess they must value it about as much as I do. I may have a little better aim though and hit the trash can.
I wish the mid-valley had a local newspaper without so much bias. I get so tired of all the political agenda that they push. I guess that's why I don't get it.
A suggestion though.... Can you get a box and request they get it in the box? I don't live in town, so I am not familiar with throwing newspapers.

Re: Rant! Salem Statesman news paper
wow, sorry to hear that, we have never had a wet paper, it's always extra double bagged on really wet days and Sunday, and always a short reach out the door. Our S-J carrier rocks !!

I thought this was going to be a rant about their quality of fact reporting. I guess I will wait for that one.

Re: Rant! Salem Statesman news paper
I miss the days of the paperboy that would porch your paper for a nice tip. These days, my yellow lab does the retrieving and it costs me a milk bone every morning.

I was going to go there, but didn't want to hijack. All I wish for is unbiased reporting of our local school district.

Re: Rant! Salem Statesman news paper
Come on boys, cut the cord! I cancelled our subscription two years ago after 30 years reading that rag. It is a weird feeling at first because you swear that you just have to have it. I don't miss it one bit. I have since cut the evening television news from my routine in an effort to eliminate as much negativity in life as possible. Ahhhhhhhhh. Don't miss it one bit either!
Perhaps there is some truth to the statement that ignorance is bliss!
