Default Tannerite

Has anyone seen tannerrite being shot? There are some pretty cool videos online, but you have to experience it for yourself. Just make sure you and your car are parked a ways away and you are not next to anything that will break from the concussion.

Cool utube video- http://youtube.com/watch?v=kQPmUPqbpMc

Tannerite is very cool stuff. Has anyone tried to make this on their own? I am pretty sure I know what it is made of but have not tried it yet. Not sure if I am going to either.

I would not want to try to make it.

After tannerite is mixed you can hold a lighter to it and it will not ignite! Not usre if it is a heat thing or impact thing?

Lots of fun. I have a case and a half that is going to be shot at a retreat that I go to this weekend. You can mix it and put it into snoose cans or film canisters so you can have multiple targets to shoot instead of just one big bang. It is a real surprise to someone that has never seen it before. The first time I took it to the retreat a friend of mine told the newbies that he had a load he had developed and then demoed it by shooting at a target that we had placed a bottle of tannerite behind. That was the look we got from the new guys.

Its the pressure. the reason why you need a blasting cap for explosives. heat and pressure = bang. You can cook with burning c4, just don't stomp it out ( I read this in a vietnam book I have not tried it)

We mixed three batches and lit it off in a quarry, at 2 am. The shooter couldn't see the bottles so I voluntered to take the shot. I hit it the first time and it did shake things up. Left a nice big crater.

I had the same idea. Tricking the guys into thinking you casted some "explosive" bullets....

The stuff is pretty awsome. I believe it is illegal to transport it once you've mixed the ingredients together, though, am I right?

And it's true, the video's do not do justice. You have to hear it. The explosion immediately following the gunshot....really cool.

That would be correct. To stay legal you must shoot it where you mix it.

Tannerite is like crack. At first you get your giggles from one bottle. Then two. Then three. Then....well you get the picture.

Here is a video we made a couple of years ago: Frosty Goes Boom!

Knowing Shark bait he probably used 2 bottles but one would do the same thing. He is the one that turned me to the dark side. You can order it today and it will be at your house on Thursday or Friday most of the time.

I think that we used 4 or 5 that time. Hey it was a big snow man!

The most I have ever personally done at one time was a 2-liter bottle and I think that was 4lbs. There are plans being made to do a whole case next time, 10lbs worth.

Something I like to tell everyone who is just discovering this stuff is please be careful and use some common sense. As the charge weight goes up make sure that you are further away. This stuff is still legal for now and a lot of fun. Don't be the irresponsible person who gets it banned.
